The Sensitive Future 2.0.0
Technology was supposed to bring us together, and now? We walk these streets together each day, just passing clouds, travelling unnoticed and distracted. We breath the same air, we follow the same paths, we chase the same dreams, and yet we never take the time to see. We are intertwined, every action we take creating an unseen lasting effect on those who walk among us. Yet do we ever stop to knowledge the chain reactions put in place.
In a time of great shift towards individualism, how can we seek to retain a sense of social responsibility and recognize the interconnection of our individual actions?
In this work KNOT Kollektiv and Cie Nyff explore what it is to be a part of something bigger than us. Focusing on the community of Overvecht as a point of inspiration and research they will build a mirror to reflect the chain reactions which go unnoticed everyday. Through use of movement, technology and interaction we seek to explore the interconnection of our everyday actions and uncover a new understanding of social responsibility and communal empathy.
The Sensitive Future was created in co-production with Cie Nyff and with the support of the Cafe Theater Festival and Gemeente Utrecht with a premiere on 24th February 2020.
